JICA to assist with much needed Nursing training.
22-09-09 04:10

A Japanese funded project to be implemented in Tonga has been confirmed.

The Ministry of Health's Health Director and a Senior Advisor from the JICA Headquarters in Japan signed the minutes of meeting for designing the project to strengthen in-service training for all nurses, specifically community health nurses in Tonga.

This was held at Vaiola hospital's conference room.  Principal of Queen Salote School of Nursing, Tilema Kama, says the three year project falls in line with the Ministry's corporate plan, where they identified one of the most pressing needs was to strengthen in-service training for their nurses.

The project is expected to begin next year, where JICA will provide a project coordinator to head the program and additional equipment if needed.
